Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait

Rodenticide

Storm® Secure Wax Blocks are a trusted industry standard for reliable rat and mouse control. Very durable, stable and cost-effective baits, they are ideal for year-round protection of vulnerable areas. Their high levels of palatability and potency mean fewer bait pulses are needed to achieve control. It only takes a single feed for rodents – even ones with developed resistance to other baits – to consume a lethal dose.

Key benefits

  • Highly potent, Single feed efficacy
  • Exceptionally fast eradication
  • Extremely palatable and durable wax block

How it works

Storm® Secure contains a powerful second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide formulated with BASF Fortec™ Technology into a compressed cereal grain block, with an added fungicide to prevent mould in humid or damp conditions.

Only a very small amount of Storm Secure® is needed to kill a rat or mouse, and a lethal dose can be consumed in a single feed. Rodents then die three to five days after taking the bait. With some other rodenticides, rodents die more than a week after taking the bait.

Storm Secure® is a highly palatable and durable bait block that is quick and easy to use. A central hole allows each block to be anchored securely in baiting points for the best targeting and to prevent removal.

When Storm Secure® is used for pulse baiting, its potency means that less bait is required to achieve control – even when baits are still placed in as many points as possible. That makes Storm Secure® more economical than other rodenticides.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait?

Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait is a highly palatable cereal based, wax-based rodenticide bait block with warning dyes, intended to control rats and mice. It is a large, 20g wax block with pre formed aperture, designed to be secured in tamper resistant bait stations. It contains active ingredients that effectively eliminate rodent infestations in various settings.

  • What pests does Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait target?

This bait is primarily used to control rats and mice.

  • How does Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait work?

The bait contains anticoagulant active ingredients that disrupt the blood clotting process in rodents, leading to their death after ingestion.

  • Where can I use Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait?

It is suitable for use in and around buildings, warehouses, food storage areas, and other locations where rodent control is necessary. Always follow local regulations and label instructions.

  • How should I place the bait blocks?

Place bait blocks in tamper-resistant bait stations or secure locations inaccessible to children, pets, and non-target animals. Position the bait where rodent activity is evident, such as along walls, near burrows, or in dark corners.

  • How many baits should I use?

Typically, place 2-3 baits per bait station.  Use the amount recommended on the product label, typically enough to maintain a continuous supply for rodents until the infestation is controlled. Avoid overuse to minimize environmental impact.

  • Is Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait safe to use around pets and children?

The bait is toxic to rodents and can be harmful to pets and children if ingested. Use tamper-resistant bait stations and follow all safety precautions on the label to prevent accidental exposure.

  • How long does it take for the bait to be effective?

Rodents usually consume the bait and die within a few days. Complete control depends on the size of the infestation and proper bait placement.

  • Can rodents develop resistance to Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait?

Resistance to anticoagulant rodenticides can occur but is generally low with proper use. Rotating rodenticides and integrating other control methods can help manage resistance.

  • Can Storm® Secure Wax Block Bait be used outdoors?

Yes, it can be used outdoors in protected areas such as bait stations, but avoid placing bait where it can be washed away or accessed by non-target wildlife.

  • What precautions should I take during application?

Wear protective gloves, avoid direct contact with bait, and wash hands after use. Keep bait out of reach of children, pets, and non-target animals.
